WHAT TO VISIT IN WYOMING

Wyoming, according to the official name, State of Wyoming is one of the 50 states of the United States of America, located in the area of the country known as “The West”. While the eastern third of the state geographically belongs to the Great Plains, most of the state is dominated by numerous groups and mountain chains. Wyoming was formed from parts of the territory that belonged successively to the original state of Idaho (1863 – 1864), then from the territory of Dakota (1864-1868) and eventually with the territory of Wyoming, between 1868 and 1890.

The territory of today, on which more and more tourists that visit Wyoming walk on, was the same with the original state and joined the Union on 10th July 1890 as the 44th state of it.

As in the past, the U.S. state of Wyoming is still the most depopulated, counting in 2000 only 509,294 people. It means less than the population of a city! Anyone would like to visit Wyoming at least for the quiet area, isn’t it? The capital and largest city of the Wyoming is Cheyenne and the residents of the state are called “Wyomingites”.

When you visit Wyoming, take into account the following parks: Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park. In the meantime, it would not be a bad choice to visit Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area and Forest Service-Ashley National Forest). Some monuments that could please you are: Devils Tower National Monument and Fossil Butte National Monument.

If you have enough time, it would not be a wrong choice to go to some other places too, like: California National Historic Trail, Independence Rock (Wyoming), Fort Laramie National Historic Site, Medicine Wheel National Historic Site, Mormon Pioneer National Historic Trail, National Register of Historic Places listings in Wyoming, Oregon National Historic Trail and Pony Express National Historic Trail. Visit Wyoming and take advantage of all its attractions!
