WHAT TO VISIT IN SAN DIEGO

If you want to go somewhere and you have no idea, you should go the USA and visit San Diego! Sun, surf and the beautiful scenery are the qualities that most visitors appreciate in San Diego. Located in the most southern corner of the Coast of California, the city is blessed with sunshine all the year and the temperate climate in almost all the months of winter. Many travelers come here just to experience the paradise of Southern California.

Surrounded by long sandy peninsulas (also called as “islands” by the locals), San Diego is the ideal place for holiday. The Maritime World is located on the shores of Mission Bay and is the second “jewel” of the city. This is the closest connection with the ocean and in many ways it represents the identity of the city. As a center of conservation for the maritime life and as a source of public education, its name is linked to San Diego.

The links of the city with the sea are more evident in this crowd of people tan, wearing bikini and walking barefoot that fill the city. It happens especially in the north of Mission Bay, where the small shops, the cafes and restaurants on the beach represent the heart and the soul of Southern Californian lifestyle.

Visit San Diego and its historic communities such as Gaslamp Quarter (the first shopping district in San Diego) and Little Italy. These are now centers of the visual and performing arts. Once a year, the artists in central areas open their studios and the public galleries, in order to celebrate the artistic heritage of the area.

Music is an integral part of the artistic heritage of San Diego too. It occupies a central place in the Gaslamp Quarter, during the historic festivals. It is very important for the city the work of jazz and blues musician Jim Croce. San Diego is the host of the ten cultural organizations, companies and cooperatives of artists and writers and one of the most important art centers in Southern California.

San Diego was an important commercial port, but now all its resources and energy are turned towards tourism, with great success. Annually, more than 26 million of visitors from all over the world come to San Diego. The reputation of a top destination of North America is due both to history and multi-culturalism and the magnificent location of arts.

Considered to be the birthplace of California, San Diego began with the little-known Spanish missionary, the priest Junipero Serra. Presidio (fort) is called as the first mission in California, remains as testimony to the city’s Spanish origins of San Diego. Go and visit San Diego as soon as you can!
