WHAT TO VISIT IN CONNECTICUT

Many times when I was playing Monopoly, I have heard of the word “Connecticut”, but I never thought it was actually the name of a country. As I have grown up, I started to be more and more interested in seeing this place and checking whether it is the same as the one I heard about while playing games. I planned to visit Connecticut and my dream came true. Moreover, now I suggest to everyone to see this beautiful place! It is worth all the money!

Connecticut is a state of the United States of America that is located in the north-east. It is one of the 13 original states (which were former colonies of Great Britain) that have founded the United States and the fifth in the order of the ratification of the U.S. Constitution.

If you are curios to find out about what “Connecticut”, we will reveal to you the mystery. It comes from the word “quonehtacut” and it means “place of long tidal river”. The people who live there are called “Connecticuters”.

The borders of Connecticut are: Long Island Sound in the south, New York State in the west, Massachusetts in the north, and Rhode Island in the east. Hartford is the capital of the state and if you are interested in other big and populated cities, you should take a look over: Bridgeport, New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury, Norwalk, Danbury, New Britain and Bristol. Another important piece of information is that Connecticut has 169 towns.

If you want to take a more adventurous journey to Connecticut, we suggest you to climb The Bear Mountain in Salisbury. It is placed right in the north-west part. Massachusetts would be another smart choice and New York meet, on Mount Frissell. The Connecticut River must also be seen by you, especially because it is placed right in the middle of the state. It finally flows into Long Island Sound.

Do not forget to see the Connecticut River Valley too during your visit in Connecticut. Connecticut has a small size, but its landscape is impressive. Litchfield Hills and New London County are two great examples. Also if you can go to the National Park Service, it is a must to visit the beautiful corners of heaven, like: Appalachian National Scenic Trail, Quinebaug and Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor and, least but last, Weir Farm National Historic Site.
